The car is a ‘71 two-door and formally an ITC race-car. (The previous owner soon took it off the track. I guess he realized the car was too nice to be racing.) The car was totally gone through about two years ago. Seals, weather-stripping, paint, brakes, stuff like that. I did almost all of it myself. It’s powered by an SR20DET (specs to the right) and I still have a list of things to do: build a cover around shifter, wiring up a speedometer and tachometer, brakes, etc. This car will never be "finished" so to speak. (There is always room for improvement.) Brakes are definitely next on the list!
Phase two comes in after those are done. I already have an Apexi power FC computer and a Greddy boost controller for it. I still need to buy a few more things like a Z32 mass air-flow meter and 720cc injectors. I plan to install all that at the same time and spend some time dyno tuning. This phase should be good for at least 350 rear-wheel horsepower. My friend has a DET powered 240sx with basically the same set-up; except he’s running a Jim Wolf ECU and Apexi Super AFC for tuning. At 21 pounds of boost, on race gas, he laid down just over 350 rear-wheel horsepower, using the same T3/T28 turbo. So I figure, with the more tunable computer and other upgrades that I have my car should be good for 350-400 rear-wheel horsepower.. Can you say FUN?
As for myself, I'm 26 years old and reside in beautiful South Florida. I’m a total Datsun freak, with many hours of ink work to my skin; including my Datsun girl (Japanamation girl with a Datsun t-shirt on) and my white DET dime.In my spare time, when not working at home depot, getting tattooed or wrenching on cars, I ride a BMX
