Auxiliary engine gauges, especially a oil-pressure gauge, are important additions to your 510 project. Many gauge installations in 510s I have seen substitute the aftermarket sender for the OE sender (be it water temperature or oil pressure), but I didn’t want to loose the idiot-light in the dash; I wanted the best of both worlds. I knew how folks have solved this in the past: Find the appropriate brass adapters and/or tees. I didn’t want the fatigue-related drawbacks of brass, including failures due to excessive stress or vibration. After searching the internet and various parts catalogs, I came upon a product made by NISsport that seems like the perfect fit for my needs. It fits between the engine block and the stock Nissan oil-pressure idiot-light sensor and it includes three additional NPT (National Pipe Taper) threaded ports for gauges, turbo feed, or whatever other uses you may have. The adapter is made from CNC 316 stainless steel. The quality of this part is superior to the “brass tee” typically used in this situation. One of the most common failures for mechanical oil pressure gauge plumbing is fatigue fractures, which will at very least exhibit in oil weeking from a cracked fitting or line, or most dramatically with an engine compartment covered in oil and an engine rebuild. Installation was fairly straight forward:
